all the position players I've come across gain in the same categories (speed related) - I never considered to compare actual injuries.

It jumped out at me.   And it also shows that players don't have to take a hit to get a medical bug gain.

here is another position player - he's gaining in the exact same categories.

Leg injury.   Do you have position player with back, arm or shoulder injury?
3/24/2011 12:07 PM
I'll look.  If you want to look too, the way I've found most of these guys is going into random worlds and looking at their DL snapshot - sorting by the ones put on the DL earliest in the season.

Yeah, I running thru some team in MG.   I haven't found a good example.

I'm pretty sure this guy is getting the benefit - he's showing all the signs and he has a leg injury (foot). I think far too often people would just write this off as gaining points back that he lost (since he's not going above what he lost yet) but the growth pattern and categories is all too familiar.

So 20 mil in medical and leaving the player on the dl as long as possible is the way to earn the ratings boost?
3/24/2011 12:39 PM
60 day DL.  I've found no benefit to the 7 day DL.

I don't know if $20 mil has anything to do with it either.

Here is another guy to support your theory:

I believe the higher the budget, the better but I only have 16m in my example.

So the growth comes from being on the 60 day DL, or the days once he's eligible to return but he's still on the DL?

I'll throw a test case out there too.

Nobody minor league filler.  4 years in, so I wouldn't expect much growth if playing.  15M in medical.
I just threw him on the 60-day DL with 1 day left on his injury.

Power, arm strength and durability in-season(while on the 60 day).  Career highs.

Advice wanted on a related decision.

Bob Friend blew out his knee last season, and he is still > 60 days injured, so there's no issue with which DL he goes on.  However, I only ran $13M medical last season.  Also, even 7-8 points of range, speed, and baserunning don't really change who he is as a player very much; he's a slugging 1B/DH.

Is it worth running my medical up to $17M to get the medical bug gain on this guy?  Or is it a waste (aside from the global benefits of having higher medical), because (a) it's unclear that you need a lot of medical to get the bug, or (b) he's only going to get improvements in range, speed, and baserunning?
