yatzr's recruiting tool v1.9.3 - another bugfix Topic

Yatzr this is all excellent work, I'm loving the game analyzer, and can't wait for my next recruiting cycle to try this one out.
I'm glad you like them.  I've been using them for awhile now, and I'd be lying if I said I could have the same success at St Joseph's without them.  More than anything, they've been a huge time saver.

I put my team ID in and this is what i get. ID is 50900

Isnt a valid team ID
Gino, I just tried yours and it works.  You have to make sure you put in your team ID, season, and choose a recruits file.  If you don't choose a recruits file, it will give you the invalid team ID error.
Glad to see you got yours working.  Did you have to tell it to use java 6 like the instructions in that blog post?  I'd like to know what to tell the next mac user that has issues.
I'm currently using it on my PC laptop; my Macs are at work and I'll have to wait until next week to see if I can get it to work.

You can borrow my ID for Stagg. Just sitemail me. Also, your tool looks great but it's telling me that my team ID is invalid.
make sure you have the permTeams.dat file in the same folder as the .jar file.  Also make sure the config.ini file is in the same folder as well.
Both the perm and the config files are there.
What are you using for your team id?
52614
weird.  I tried using 52614 and it worked.  I'd assume yours is having an issue finding the permTeams.dat file.  I'll make a debug version of the tool sometime this weekend and send it to you.  Then we can get a better idea of what's going on.
Thanks. It's still not working... is it because I don't have a team in Wilkinson?

OK so i opened the wilf d2 file and opened the recruit tool 0.1 and when i click file then new season i enter my team id and season 63 then i click recruit file and go under my documents where i saved the wilk63d2recruit.dat  file and double clicked it, it then shows up beside recruit file and i hit save and it still says my team ID isnt valid.

What operating systems are you guys using? It seems like the program isn't finding the permTeams.dat file. When I use it, it always looks for it in the same folder as the .jar. I think that your guys' is looking for it elsewhere. What folder opens when you go to select the recruit file? That should be the folder where it expects permTeams.dat.

Are you running it straight from the zip file?  It can't find the permTeams.dat file if you run it that way

I made a 0.2 version.  The only difference is that I added the ability to export all of the recruits to a spreadsheet file.  It exports the recruit ids, names, attributes, towns, and latitude/longitude coordinates.  I figure some people will find it useful just to be able to get that information in a spreadsheet and do their own thing with it.  If people want it, I can add options to limit which recruits get exported.

I got it to open once then no recruits showed up on the board so i exited out and double clicked the .01 file and it has started saying team ID not valid.
9/11/2010 6:01 PM
where can i try the .o2 version at?
9/11/2010 6:02 PM
If the 0.2 version isn't showing up on the gdreports page, hold shift and hit reload.  It should show up then.  If the 0.1 version wasn't working for you, the 0.2 probably won't either.

I've downloaded the zip file and there is no yatzr recruit jar file in any of the folders.
9/12/2010 6:22 PM
There is no zip file anymore. The file you downloaded was the .jar file. Someone who downloaded the game analyzer mentioned that their computer renamed it to .zip when they downloaded it. If that happened to you, just rename it to .jar

Great, thanks....that makes sense.
