Make sure you have the permTeams.dat file and the config.ini file in the same folder as the .jar

Redownload it. If your computer says its a .zip, then rename it and change the extension to .jar

I've got the tool to work but it keeps telling me the id is invalid.  I reloaded everything but now it's saying to select a valid recruit file.  I've got the one for Heisman 49 D2.  And I've got the recruit tool, the perteam data and config file all in the same folder.

I made a 0.3 version.  In this one, if the program can't find permTeams.dat when it starts up, it will ask you to find it.  This should fix everyone's problems with the invalid team id problem.

There is something wrong with the distance calculation for the latest version of the tool (0.3).  I was using it to look through recruits for my team in Rockne.  I searched for QB recruits and ordered by ATH (I used the tool to weed out those QBs not in my vision).  The two lists were the same (at least as far as I looked) but the distances from my school were not.

The difference in the distance between the tool and the recruit search for the first QB was 20 miles
For the next two it was about 800 miles
For QBs 4 and 5, it was about 700 and 450 miles, respectively.  I stopped after that.

doh!  The miles you see in the table would be the miles for the account that created the recruits file.  I can't believe I didn't think of that.  I'll have to update it to clear out the miles for the recruit files and then set them when you set your vision.  I'll get that fixed tonight.

OK i found my problem. When i open it it is opening under some form of Java that wont let it open "JAVA (TM) Platform SE Binary"

What type of Jave do i need to open the file with? I downloaded the one you have on the page.

I right click the recruit tool, go under properties and under general where it says open with, what should that be?

I've downloaded the 3.0 and it opens up but now when I go to select the recruits data file it tells me it's not valid.  I realized the data file is being debugged and a new version is pending release so this is no biggie. But I tried using the coaches data file and it too tells me it's not valid, and I just downloaded that file.  Might there be issues with it as well?
