Challenge #4 - Don’t Ride the White Horse
This challenge brought to you by LAID BACK – WHITE HORSE. Turn it up and get funky with it.
Test your handicapping in the sport of harness horse racing. Friday Night, we will be traveling to Mohawk raceway. You will need to download and/or print the Mohawk racing guide for Friday found here. The guide also has instructions on how to interpret it and what all of the numbers mean for those not familiar with horse racing.
Your tribe will get $1,000 To gamble with on Friday Night.
You will be placing WIN Bets on the Mohawk Race 4, Mohawk Race 5, and Mohawk Race 6.
You can split the $1,000 however you see fit, however:
You MUST bet it all.
You MUST bet on at least one horse for each race (minimum $50).
For Race 4, you can bet a maximum of 3 different horses.
For Race 5, you can bet a maximum of 3 different horses.
For Race 6, you can bet a maximum of 2 different horses.
Scoring will be based on the Handicappers odds in the PDF Above, not what the actual line goes off at. So if you bet $100 on Bunny Mach in race 5 (the handicappers favorite with 7-2 odds) and it WINS, you would have $450.00. (7*100)/2 = $350, plus you get your $100 bet back = $450.
Only the winning horses will pay.
I’m allowing each tribe to pick a “scratch horse”. This can be any horse you did not choose for your submission, racing in RACE 6. If one of your horses scratches (doesn’t race for whatever reason) in any of the races, the amount wagered on that horse will be placed on your “scratch horse” in the last race. If none of your horses scratch, your “scratch horse” will be disregarded. If more than one of your horses scratch, your scratch horse will replace the first one on your submission, and you will lose the bet on your second.
Tiebreaker 1: Number of people that get out of the car at the hotel in the above video (input needed)
Tiebreaker 2: Most money wagered total on Race 6.
Tiebreaker 3: Order that your “Scratch horse” finishes (no input needed)
Tiebreaker 4: Order of submission. (no input needed)
Most of you will be able to watch the races live on TVG Network. DishNetwork CHAN 405. DirecTV 602. Comcast or local cable, check here. (Also can be streamed on Mohawk's website with a few minute delay)
