I'm leaning to moving player A to SS and letting B play 3B.  Good move? Bad move?  Thanks for the input.

probably a bad move I'd play A at 3B.  He'd make too many more errors at SS and not sure his range would be much better than D-. and he's much better than Player B at 3B.

I would try (A) at SS for a few games, you'll see pretty quickly if he can play the position. If he's horrible switch them back. You can obviously expect a ton of "-" plays at short from (B).

I tried Graig Nettles at SS once (B+/A D I believe) with disastrous results. I'll see if I can find them and post them.

That was the 72 version. Sad as it is, you're probably better off going with the C/D- at short.

I'd do this too.. A trial run at SS knowing he can go back and field the hot corner like a stud.
