I tried searching the forums, but it looks like all old data is gone and I couldn't find anything on this topic.
I'm trying to recall the effects of fatigue. I know that for fielders, their fielding% will start to degrade slightly even at 99% fatigue (recalling the "perfect fielding" threads from years past, where even perfect fielders will make errors at slight fatigue), and the general consensus seemed to be that the magic number was about 92%. Anything below will begin to have serious impact.
My questions relate to the many aspects of fatigue - mainly for fielding and hitting. (My belief is that fatigue for pitching is so catastrophic that there's really no point in even trying to quantify the exact nature of the effects. "Bad bad bad" should suffice.)
For hitting, I'm in a situation where I'm out of money for a DH, and I'm seriously considering going with a player with 200 PA. Obviously, he's going to run into devastating fatigue. What can I expect? Will AVG degrade more or less than OBP? (i.e., will he still draw walks?) Are XBH effected? (i.e., will he still get hits, but only singles as he can't leg 'em out anymore?) Or will everything degrade evenly? Exactly how bad will it be... will he be totally useless at 10-15% fatigue, or is the max penalty 50%? 75%? I've never tried running someone down that far so I have no idea.
On the other hand, if I use full-PA DH and instead skimp on a right-fielder at similar PA... exactly how bad will his fielding get? Is his range affected? I'm looking at taking a "real" DH but using a 152 PA OF with A fielding and A++ range. Will he still get + plays when exhausted? Exactly how bad will his fielding % get?
Any help is greatly, greatly appreciated.
