Ex-lant Pitching Still Suffering Big? OBP Ruling? Topic

Just asking.

I kind of lost interest in SLB when they nudged the engine to reduce the effectiveness of great pitching.

Is it still that way?  Maddux, Johnson, Brown, and their ilk still getting knocked around as if they were Ford, Drysdale, and Ryan in prior revisions?

Also, are BB's & OBP still cheap?

(Then there was the reduced number of settings they allowed on a per player baseis, scaling from 0-4 or 1-5, etc. That was another bummer.)

Addie Joss is the new king of the sim. Deadball pitching rules the day. Pedro is much more hit-and-miss. Maddux is still good.

I'm only in my 4th total league but from what I have seen jfranco said it the best.  Whatever the case I'm enjoying my time here in the sim world.

I've never been close to disappointed with either 94 or 95 Maddux.  Right now I've got the 95 Maddux in an 80M w/AAA league (plays like an OL) and he's been great: 237 IP, 21-7, 1.48 ERA, 0.88 WHIP.  Home park is Dodger Stadium.

I almost never venture above 100M leagues, though, so maybe that's the trick.  I think any pitcher would get slaughtered occasionally in the high cap leagues.

great pitching beats good pitching more often than not.

pedro is still far more hit than miss.

Thanks for the quick to the point analyses.  Okay, I'm tempted....  ;->
