A bit pricy for a closer, but not too bad...and he's absolutely shredding in one of my progs right now.

39 appearances, 37 saves, 1.87 ERA, .167 OAV, 0.86 WHIP, 9+ K/9

Anyone else use him?

He came up on my radar when I was building a 2010 OL test team right after the 2010 guys were released. I elected to use Brian Wilson as my closer instaead, pimarily 'cuz i am a giants fan and like the bearded one. He did not do well for me. In looking over Wagner's performance history (small sample, only 4 uses), he seems to be a bit wild with an average of 4.30 bb/9

He's around 3 BB/9 for me, but still...with that OAV, they don't really come around to score

Performance history looks awful for the price. I know it's small sample but best season with era over 3. I would much rather take others like cisco carlos, northrop, niggeling, etc. And if I want truly elite modern day pitcher to close, mike adams and joey devine are far superior. I think Wagner's problem, like all modern day closers, is the .98ip/g. This really hurts his efficiency if he walks a batter or two and builds up the pc. Modern day middle relievers/setup man is where it's at.

I'd rather have 2010 Kenley Jansen.  Had on three teams and he was unscored upon on two of them. Costs a little more than Milacki for the same 26 innings, and will walk hitters, but he won't give up HRs and doesn't allow baserunners to score.
