Yeah. I would bet DII and DIII in most worlds are pretty barren. But there weren't a ton there before the update either.

Nelson's number on warner is wrong. It was at either 353 or 363. I remember it as being the most full world among my 7 teams.
I'm pretty sure it's not wrong, though I can't tell about when you're talking about. Warner was the second most populated world after Rockne after the update was in its second season, as the chart shows.
The preupdate 285 was wrong. I remember it clearly because when I saw the new reward structure, I immediately went to check which one of my world was the fullest and it turned out leahy and warner were. I chuckled a little because those were the two worlds I was gonna drop immediately after I saw the first 3 games under the new engine. Warner was in the 350-360 range preupdate.
Warner was rolling over when the update occurred. I'm pretty sure the reason you saw such a high number was the number of new players playing with free seasons.

Here's what I have for world populations. I've actually been impressed how most of the worlds are still filling and am hopeful they stay at least over 350. I think Dobie and Hayes look like they're going to continue to go down the tubes. If anyone has populations I don't for pre-update, let me know.

I will post updates when worlds start recruiting. I find this all interesting.

Hayes looks like it will close at 254 - less than when the update was released. Unless something changes, that will be the first world to dip below pre-update levels. Likely not the last though.

Yeah. I would bet DII and DIII in most worlds are pretty barren. But there weren't a ton there before the update either.
I have wondered for some time if part of the problem with attracting and keeping the more casual fan - even without the issues the game currently has - is that most people are put off by having to fight their way through DIII and DII to get close to a team they've even heard of.

Stillman and Menlo are still available in Yost.  It doesn't look like anyone with experience is chomping at the bit to join a new world.

I'm sure that is a problem for some, but I don't think being able to move up very easily and fast would be good either. Newbies getting crushed by a lot of veterans at D1-A would probably cause them to quit pretty quickly also.

True, but I was thinking more about the problems of attracting them in the first place.

In addition they would probably get lit up in recruiting and blow most of their money.
