Nice a level 5 win in Dobie doesn't even get you a free season!

they are really overestimating the demand for imaginary, text-based football.

Stagg is at 244 a couple of cycles into the new user sign-up. I believe that is lower than pre-update. the slow but steady decline...........................

I updated the first page with percentages of users from before the update to current. Right now, after 3 full seasons for every world since the update, there are 2.68% more coaches than there were pre-update. It will be interesting to see what happens this next season in every world. I guess my original hope of having around 350 in every world was a pipe dream...

Any interest in seeing the actual list of coaches pre update and post update?  I'm kinda interested to see how many pre update coaches have left and how many current coaches started after the update.  If there's anything in particular you want to see, let me know.

A more useful comparison would be to see how many paying customers there were pre-update and and how many there are now.  That is probably the bottom line comparison (so far).  But I don't see how any of us have access to that sort of information or how it could even be estimated on our side.

Because paying customers are more fun to play against.

I think that would be interesting. Also, maybe how many teams each coach had/has?

Before the job change period ends, Warner is down from 297 to 235 teams...

64 Teams at D1a
29 Teams at D1aa...16 of the top 32 teams have openings currently.
43 Teams at DII...The #1 and #2 Ranked teams are both open.
99 Teams at DIII...The #1 and #4 Ranked teams are open. #1 is Randolph Macon and #4 is Martin Luther...both long time powers in Warner.

Even more telling...zitzapper and zzookeepp in DII didn't move up...they just left. Ditto for tangocbear at NC winner Randolph Macon. What does that day when NC winners leave their teams and don't move up...but just leave?

Guys, I'm kind of jumping in here as a total newbie... but... this being my first season and all, after reading all of the comparisons between the new and old engine, I think I'm lucky that I can't compare. Otherwise, I may be as frustrated as alot of you are.

I actually had never heard of anything like GD. I'm an avid player of games like Baseball Mogul and Football Mogul. Have played them for a while. And while they were fun, they seemed kind of hollow. I was actually searching for a college football version of something similar to the Mogul games when I found this. And boom... I jumped in.

Now, I'm just in the recruiting period of my first season, so I can't really critique the game or speak about how good or bad it is. However, I can tell you that it APPEARS to be the type of thing I've been wanting to play for a while. And, of course, when I found it... I told others. All of them avid college football fans and armchair coaches, had never heard of anything like GD either.

There are probably 20 people I've told about this whom are now waiting to hear from me after my first season to decide whether they are joining or not. My point is that if I'm experiencing this with new eyes (never playing the old game) and love it, thus sparking 20 more people to join... and if there are some more people playing it now with same enthusiasm to tell others... then maybe there's hope for growth in the future.

I, for one, definitely don't want to be stepping into something I'm going to love only to see it start going downhill. I would much rather be playing in a full world against other human controlled teams on a regular basis.

So... here's to hope!

Thanks, guys.
