Why is this an earned run?

If Figgins fielded the groundball and threw out Roberts at 2B, then Sandoval would not have scored from 1B on Mize's ground out to 1B.  Ruth's strikeout would have ended the inning with no runs scored.

  B.Roberts draws the walk.
 
DP C.Figgins fields the groundball but makes a bad throw to 2B. P.Sandoval reaches on the throwing error.
 
  J.Mize grounds out to 1B. B.Roberts scores.
 
II B.Ruth swings and misses for strike 3.
 
  R.Smith swings and misses for strike 3.
 
DREAM ON 0 1 1
24 Good Men 1 0 0

Right - I'm saying (as is napolean) that WIS made a scoring mistake.  There are several scoring glitches in the system.

Contrarian was correct.  Here is the response from Customer Support:

"This is a known bug. There are some instances where an official scorer has to wait until the end of the inning half in order to truly know whether a run was earned or unearned. That's one of those situations.

It's something we plan on fixing when time permits.

Thank you for bringing it to our attention."


I'm so happy to get one right for a change.
