1994 Cincinnati Reds over 1903 Cleveland Naps
Four games to none
MVP: Jacob Brumfield (.400, 3 RBI, 3 SB)
He may have had a team named after him and came through batting .471 in the series, but Nap Lajoie couldn’t help his side enough as the 94 Reds easily took care of Cleveland. Modern baseball had the better in this series and the Reds batted a robust .388 for the series outscoring the Naps 32-15, scoring double the amount of runs.
Jose Rijo won two games but the batting numbers were impressive with five Reds players over .400. Tony Fernandez batted .600 for the series including going 4-4 in the clinching game four win. The 1994 season was a loss for all of baseball and this Reds team but now comes a second chance and to say the least this Cincinnati team came out impressive with the first sweep in the competition.
