Baseline prestige list? Topic

Absolutely totally different now. IMO, for the better. However, I am completely biased since my alma mater is a D or D- baseline prestige team. So I will never be able to see it through an unbiased lens. Although still difficult, imo, I have the chance to pull a stud.

As well it should be. What you describe is impossible to sell to the public.
That's not the topic here mike. Its whether or not prestige was nerfed. Not whether the nerfing was good for HD.
Meh. The topic evolves. You should too, caveman.

If the game is "6 of us can have the top 6 recruits, screw everybody else", it should be "easier" for others. FACT.
Eh its more than 6. I pulled the 98% out my ***.

but. Look at real life (I cringe when I think that). Duke doesnt compete with buffalo for recruits. They compete with UNC and Syracuse. That's what the game was trying to emulate.
Duke still has advantages over Buffalo. It's just no longer a guarantee that Duke wins. That's a better game to sell to the public than "Get Duke and you'll only have to compete with a handful of teams."

Didn't you go ban hammer on people for going off topic awhile back.

Right. So the game has changed. Thanks for agreeing with me. I like it when we are internet buddies.

I only agree with you when it benefits my point. You know this.

Question: what does baseline prestige mean?
Answer: it's the starting point, and generally the resting point of a team, when it isn't being taken to new heights or run into the ground. The higher the baseline prestige, the easier it is to maintain a high prestige.
Follow-up question: what use is that in 3.0, hasn't prestige been neutralized?
Answer: no. The answer is no. Prestige has not been neutralized in 3.0.

No one disputes that having a high prestige doesn't have all the advantages it used to have. Losing a degree of advantage can feel like a disadvantage, but that's because of perspective, not because of reality. Prestige is still important. It's still much better to have a high prestige, and therefore a high baseline prestige is still an advantage. But it's not the ballgame. It used to be prestige+scholarships+distance. That was the recruiting ballgame. All three are still part of the equation, but now there are also other factors.

Glad we all agree. Prestige still matters. But not nearly as much as it did before.

Lol more like If youre a newbie don't worry about Duke, Buffalo, or even San Diego St because youll be suffering at D3/D2 for a couple years before you can even think about having Sacramento State.

The fact that NC State, Wake Forest, and Boston College are A-‘s while Texas is a B is crazy. Time for some updating.

As a Creighton fan, Creighton and Wichita St at C is ridiculous
