Most talented player I ever had was a Defender who I kept till his late 40s. The league was actually competitive back then, so his physical decline started to make a difference in his play. And yes, he was expensive. But when he retired all of his skill ratings were 98+, and on free and corner kicks he was all 100s.

I guess the skill attributes do continue to rise somewhat even at advanced ages. It gives you that bizarre combo of 100 ball striking with 10 strength.

We have i guy i tried to get on 2 occasions and lost the bid for him both times. Julio Civale is 69 years old still scoring over 25 goals or more a season. He has scored 1960 goals and counting! This guy has been a pain in my side for 52 seasons!
now i have had a few guys whom had scoreed over 700 goals. Nettles currently on my team has 1087 goals at the age of 47

Lmao... No, when he 18 years old I tried to get him and lost the bid for him. When he came up for FA 10 seasons later I lost the bid for him again.

Ferrari finished with 848 goals, calling it a career at age 37, two seasons ago. It would have been nice to keep him around as a pensioner, but with too many big contracts, and trying to stay on top with some competitive teams, I couldn’t justify it. He was eclipsed in his last handful of seasons by a younger forward, Aarto Enckelman, who will likely surpass him eventually. Enckelman just put up the biggest single season goal total (73) I’ve seen yet, and at the end of his 30 year old season is now sitting at 669 total goals. But that’s for another day. Here’s to Carl Ferrari.

He's 39 and about to start is 21st season for me. Likely hs last as I just can't afford to keep resigning him for over 1 million no matter how good he is plus his physical ratings are horrendous now.

Movsisyan's 89 now and the reason he's still playing unlike Enckelman & Dyachenko is he's only costing me less than 200K/season
