In all honesty, Denver should play Tebow. They're going nowhere this season. They used a first-rounder on him. If he can't play, they need to know. If he can play and they don't like his style, he has trade value. WTF are they gonna do with Orton at the helm?
Players should have to earn playing time in this league. By all accounts, Tebow had a wide open chance to steal the job and bombed in the pre-season, while Orton was brilliant. You don't then give the crappy guy the starting job just because he's a first rounder. You make him earn it.
That being said, I would have put Tebow in last night, at least for a few plays. The Raiders were putting constant pressure on Orton. They are a big defensive line and they were man-handling the Bronco O'line. Tebow probably could have run for 100 yards last night. Orton had a couple decent runs, but his legs aren't good enough for him to exploit some of the seams the Raiders were leaving open for him.
So in other words: I disagree Tebow should be their starter, but he should definitely be used situationally, especially against teams that are blitzing a lot and bringing a lot of pressure in the pocket.
