I'm gonna have to start siding with edso about Theo Ego.   I'm sure he could have gotten a job with many teams.   But he picked one with a longer dry streak than deano vs the vag.   Why?  To say "Look at me!" if successful or "You just can't fix some things" if not.

On a side note, I've decided to open a tire changing company in the northeast in hopes that, one day, edso will call for a tire change.   I'll take the call myself just so I can ridicule him for being unable to do it.

Let's evaluate the guys that Theo brought in...

DL Drew - 5 yrs $70 mil
Renteria - 4 yrs $36 mil
Matsuzaka - 6 yrs $42 mil extra $51 mil to get rights to him
Lackey - 5 yrs $81 mil
Lugo - 4 yrs $36 mil
BH Kim - 2 yrs $10 mil
Crawford - 7 yrs $142 mil
Cameron - 2 yrs $15.5 mil
Mendoza - 2 yrs $6.5 mil
Crisp - 3 yrs $11 mil
Jenks - 2 yrs $12 mil

$513 million for a bunch of stiffs.

Let's not forget the Arroyo trade for Wily Mo Pena!

If the Cubs want to win, they need pujols or fielder. fielder is better because he is yougner and a better hitter. Theo can do it easly so I have some hope in 2012.

Nope.  They're going to unload everyone they can for whatever they can get and play kids, kids and kids!!!

After watching ESPN's "Catching Hell" Cubs fans don't deserve a World Series Champion.

The majority (all, really) of the Cub fans I know don't blame Bartman.  We're so used to losing it barely matters.

Wrong.  We all deserve it, especially Bartman.

Like it or not, it's official.

Epstein is going to be the Cubs' GM.  Considering the mess we're in right now, I wish him luck.

Not official until they agree on everything.  I only say this because I recall when the Bears thought they hired Dave McGinnis, called a press conference and ended up looking like ******* when the deal fell through.

One gets a little antsy after 103 years.

"Thanks Dan Duquette for bringing in Pedro, Manny, Derek Lowe, Jason Varitek, and Johnny Damon to win me the WS trophy!"

Theo is NOT the saviour...he is just a good PR move to sell more tickets. We Cub fans are all so gullible (and desperate) we will believe in anything....even some super nerd like Theo Epstein
