I don't see Bard as the closer next year....especially with his September meltdown


but the names Nathan, Lidge, and Broxton do not exactly ring with confidence, and those are the ones being mentioned....this feels like a dropped ball, of the big time variety


I will say that after singing and chirping for so long about being a free agent, that Paps sure didn't spend too much time as one....it almost feels like he couldn't wait to leave Boston

Some players go where the most money will be... Looking over who's in need of a closer AND will spend the $ is a short list.
Paps just signed what is close to the most $ ever for a closer? And he went from a potentially unstable franchise to a very stable franchise who's fanbase will embrace him. 

It wasn't like there were 10 teams willing to offer that kind of deal and it didn't hurt that his agent was NOT Boras...
