In the True Rookie Progressive League, my 1963 Hal Brown went the first 73 IP of his season without issuing a walk. The streak finally ended today when he walked Ted Sizemore. Then Rusty Staub strolled up to the plate...and promptly drew another walk. 73 IP with zero walks, then two in a row.

He didn't even meet the real MLB record for consecutive IP without a walk. That belongs to Bill Fischer, who went 84.1 IP without throwing four balls to one batter.

Trivia Question!

Name the only MLB player ever to homer in a 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s World Series game

Good question. I figured it out with some peeking at b.r.com, would never have gotten it otherwise.

Maybe a clue is in order, like what position this guy played?

Canseco?

Nope

Sorry I forgot I posted this lol

Hint is he was primarily a 3rd baseman. Big power guy.

Matt Williams?

I think it's Matt Williams. Know he hit homers for SF (89 series) and AZ (2001) and presume he belted one for the Tribe in their 1990s appearance.

Yup.

1 with the Giants in 89
1 with the Indians in 97
and 1 with the DBacks in 01

Worst Rest Day Ever

I gave 2017 JD Martinez a day off because he was under 100%, but had him available to pinch hit. He entered the game in the 6th to PH for the rookie OF spelling him, and remained in the game.

The game lasted 20 innings. We lost, 9-8. JD went 0-for-7, with a golden sombrero.
