After we had no openings (!) a season ago, there are two opportunities for you to join one of the best HBD worlds around.  Our rules are on page one of this thread.  Here are this season's available franchises:

http://www.wisjournal.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/FranchiseProfile.aspx?fid=2973

Our first franchise is in the middle of a rebuild in the NL East.  The previous owner was able to import some young talent into the minor league system, so the cupboard isn't completely bare.  There are also a few quality pieces at the ML level that could be moved for additional prospects.

Franchise #2 hails from the AL South, which was perhaps the toughest division in our world last season.  You'll have some flexibility with this team, as there are some pretty good pieces at the ML level, but not a very high payroll.  Rebuild, or bring in free agents.  You make the call.

Send me a sitemail if you're interested.  And feel free to ask around in some other worlds you're in with our owners.  I think they'll tell you very good things.  Come join us!
Here are the two teams.

We have two openings for Season 27 in Negro League, so we're looking forward to getting started soon.  Both of our available teams were competitive last season, but finished just a bit out of the playoff picture.

NL South: https://wisjournal.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/FranchiseProfile.aspx?fid=2969  Perhaps surprisingly for a team that's been playing in Houston, this team has enough pitching to be successful, but was a bat or two short at the ML level.  Perhaps you're the owner who can help them take the next step to a postseason berth after an 83-win season last year.

AL South:  https://wisjournal.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/FranchiseProfile.aspx?fid=2953  A 78-win team last season, Jacksonville has some solid pitching and some thump in the lineup.  They could use a table-setter or two at the top of the order to help them score some more runs.

As of this morning, we have two other owners who have not renewed, but who have told me they are returning.  One of those teams is also in the AL South, so if you're interested in the open AL South team, please check with me to make sure you choose the correct franchise.

We're a world with little turnover and lively forum discussions.  We have owners with wide variety of strategies to win, as well.  Join us!

HBD's tribute to the Negro Leagues continues for its 27th season.  Founded by schedule1, this world continues to be one of the best you'll find in all of HBD.  We've got a great group of owners, and are looking for two more quality owners to add to the fold.

We have one main rule (besides the obvious "no tanking"), and that is that each team must be in a city and have a nickname used by an actual Negro League team.  That's not as limiting as you might think, as here are a couple of good resources to find Negro League teams:

When sinfonian says we have owners using a wide variety of strategies, he is spot on!

We have one owner who has only spent $99M TOTAL in salaries the past three years and was still able to average 59 wins a season. In the meantime. he was able to accumulate some great IFAs, including one for $29M and another for $30M. Not to mention a #1, #2, and #4 overall draft pick!.

Not to be outdone, we have another who spent $99M in total salaries over FOUR years and was able to still average 61 wins a season during that time! He added some stud internationals for $34M, $27M, and $28M, as well as two overall #1 picks, and two overall #3 picks!

If this is one of the wide variety of strategies you like or need to use to win at HBD, we welcome you to our league with open arms! Join today!

The National League team has a number of ML-ready players in the minors, so with some shrewd shuffling, they have the assets to win right away. Join today...
