No, no, no, not crap.  According to Duquette, they're stockpiling arms.

The Korean Baseball League has banned Orioles scouts do to their signing of a 17 year old (soon to be 18) pitching prospect. Just because the kid wants to come and play in the majors, the Koreans are throwing a fit, saying he's too young. Prospects in other countries get signed younger, and approaching their 18th birthday, players in the US are already being scouted. The KBL is a joke.

"Not so fast.   We don't want to ruin our young players by letting them into the Orioles organization."

I read something about this last week.  While Latin American playes are signed young, prospects in Japan, for instance, are rarely signed by MLB teams.  You usually see the Japanese players come over after they've already established themselves at home.  It seems Korea wants MLB to give its league the same "respect" it give to the Japanese league.

Ahhhh so, you say they are not getting any respect from the yankee imperialist dogs?

Matusz supposedly looking like his old self - looks like the 'roids, errr, the off-season training program with Brady helped. Hopefully this translates into results. Having Arrieta, Britton and Matusz as the top three, with the two Korean guys would give us a shot to at least not get pummelled every night.

Matusz looking completely transformed in his first two starts, and Arrieta looks great. Hopefully the progress continues.

Baltimore has already been eliminated from play-off contention for the seasons 2012-2013-2014 and 2015....the 2016 season chances are, as of yet, unknown

The O's are in good shape. They won't do much this season, but they have some good young pieces, and when Machado and Bundy get to the Show, with a few FA acquisitions, they can contend.

Arietta looks great after the elbow surgery - throwing harder than he's thrown in years, maybe ever. He and Hunter each went 7IP, allowing no earned runs (Hunter allowed 2 unearned). They look a lot more patient and disciplined at the plate through the spring and into the start of the season so far. I'm not expecting playoffs or anything, but it's good to see them looking solid out of the gate. Yankees come to town next, so we'll see how it goes.

Jason Hammel making the Guthrie trade look at least a tiny bit better for the time being. 7 no-hit innings and stranding the tying runs in the 8th when he was clearly out of gas. Shows how much Buck thinks of Gregg, who was warming up at the time. Great new nickname for Gregg by Palmer - Captain Chaos.

Let's hope Johnson can close it out with a little less drama than Friday.

I'm certainly glad to see the O's being more disciplined at the plate, but tonight was ridiculous. They had at least 6 strikeouts looking at fastballs, and I don't even want to count the number of first pitch, get-me-over fastballs they took. This is the one game it would have behooved them to go up hacking, once they got into the Yankees bullpen. Why take pitches when you know they're coming right at you?

Very solid debut from Chen after a rocky first inning. Unfortunately Reynolds, in all his iron glove glory, effed it up - not sure how any major leaguer can't field a two-hopper right at them. He never seems to know whether he wants to charge the ball or wait for it, and usually ends up half way in between and does something retarded.

Should be a great matchup tomorrow with Arrieta and CC.
