Buck's managing this year has been horrid at times. O's lose again because he can't manage a pitching staff, playing for Game 2 before Game 1 is even finished. Arguably the league's best closer at the moment, and a great setup man in Webb, and he goes to McFarland in the bottom of the 9th in a tie game.

Glad to see Jones got in...he deserved to start, especially ahead of the likes of Melky or Cespedes. Cruz definitely deserves it. I would say Wieters doesn't because of his injury, but his offensive numbers are still more impressive than almost all AL catchers. Weak crop at C this year.

Should have been Trout, Bautista, and Brantley starting in the OF.  You could make a decent argument for Jones as the next guy, though Crisp is also right there...

Gausman back after Ubaldo "stepped in a hole in the parking lot" and sprained his ankle. Don't buy that for a second - I think the team finally wised up. Get your best starter up here and give Ubaldo some time to work on his mechanics.

Ubaldo had a mental health DL stint last year and it made a world of difference...  Let's hope this one is similarly effective.

You mean tonight or in general?  I mean, if you're Billy Beane and Dan Duquette calls you up and offers to swap you Machado for Donaldson straight up, are you telling me you don't accept that immediately?  That's the kind of offer you want to get on paper before the other guy wakes up or comes down from whatever high he's currently experiencing.
