But who would you take in the Easter Bunny vs. Tooth Fairy Death Match?
Just to get this out of the way, the Tooth Fairy would kick the Easter Bunny's ***. The Tooth Fairy can FLY while the Easter Bunny can only hippity-hop. If the Tooth Fairy just drops rocks (or bowling balls or M-80's) on the Easter Bunny from out-of-hopping-range, eventually the Easter Bunny will go down, and go down hahd.

Also, the Tooth Fairy's WAR is much higher since it has been around since, well, TEETH. And the Easter Bunny has only been around in Christian countries since the Resurrection

Maybe. Or he strikes out less hitters.
maybe pigs will learn how to fly before I die, but its unlikely. He may strike out less than he did facing 2016 lineups, but he would still strike out more than Radke did.

I think it's reasonable to think that Scherzer would have allowed another run or run-and-a-half per nine pitching in Min in front of that horrible defense in 2000. Which would put him right around Radke's total.
Because stats told you so?

No, because offenses were better in 2000.

You're assuming this is a ground fight. Even in an octagon, a fairy could fly above the cage and drop large stage lights and various other audio-visual equipment onto the damn bunny, and crush his skull. Fairy never needs to get within range of the kicks or teeth.

He's a goddam fairy!!! He doesn't know how to fight!! He never even thinks about dropping **** on the EB. He thinks "His hair would look nice in a manbun" or "I wonder how the EB decorates his apartment? Is it an Easter egg theme year round?"

We'll, most people apply common sense and understand context.

You seem to be implying that 2016 Scherzer would be putting up Radke-like numbers if he pitched on the 2000 Twins.

You're pretty much alone with that opinion.

Well done.

Mostly staying out of this, but one question, Mike. If you're arguing that the tooth fairy doesn't know how to fight, what makes you think the Easter Bunny does?

You were unwilling to pick. I'll not be answering your questions at this time.

WTF???

Without stats, no one would ever know how good offenses were in a given year. I'm not even talking about advanced stats, just runs scored. You've let your dislike for me/stats/advanced-stats/whatever completely overrun your ability to think rationally.

Common sense wouldn't tell you how good offenses were in 1978 or 1992 or 2000 or even 2016 if you never saw the stats from those years. Even if you watched every game of every season (which is physically impossible), there's no way you'd be able to remember or distinguish between 1978 and 1979, for example.

And let's be clear. I'm not "implying" anything. I'm explicitly stating my opinion. I think Scherzer would have allowed more runs pitching on the Twins in 2000 than he did in 2016. 1.7 more runs per 9? I don't know if it would be that many. But it isn't outside the realm of possibility considering he allowed 101 runs in 195 innings in 2011.

First, you're assuming the Tooth Fairy is male. According to Wikipedia, over 70% polled think the Tooth Fairy is female. And if you don't think a female is grabbing everything she can reach to chuck at the defenseless Easter Bunny (perhaps even the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch), you don't know what you're talking about.

No, because offenses were better in 2000.
Again, so what? No one is disputing that Scherzer would give up more runs. But he is a better pitcher than Radke. You're a fool to think his ERA would jump from 2.98 to 4.41 and his Ks would be cut in half merely by pitching in 2000.

I think a drop from 2.98 to 3.50 is reasonable. Even if it falls to 3.75 he's still better than Radke. And his Ks were 11.2/9 innings. I don't see that dropping below 8, which is still well above Radke.

You're being really dumb in this debate because you're jumping to irrational conclusions. You are correct in saying offenses were better in 2000 and that Scherzer would put up worse numbers back then. Where you lose everyone (and sound completely retarded) is when you say "Offenses were better in 2000 and Scherzer would put up worse numbers. Therefore, he'd put up the same numbers as Radke."

He wouldn't. And there is nothing at all to suggest that.
