Obama: Worst President Ever? Topic

It's apparent you don't pay attention to politics, if you think Republicans had even a sliver of interest in working with President Obama.

Obama was willing to work with the Repubs.    As long as they'd do exactly what he wanted done.

And the dems had interest in working with the war mongering big oil loving bush? He had lower approval ratings than Obama ever did and still managed to get dems on his side (patriot act, no child left behind, bailout bill).... And bush was a ****** leader (although he was decisive I'll give him that) just not as ****** as Obama. Great leaders can reframe the message to get even those that don't like them personally to work towards a common goal. Saying the republicans won't work with Obama is just an excuse for poor leadership.
I don't remember dems filibustering confirmations or refusing to raise the debt ceiling.
You are looking at it the wrong way. I get the sense you are searching for reasons why Obama can NOT bring the republicans on board. Start asking yourself how Clinton brought Republicans on board and how bush brought democrats on board despite differences in beliefs and party lines. There is a big reason why the republicans are filibustering or refusing to raise the debt ceiling and it all starts with the current commander in chief.
Bullshit.

I blame Obama for being naive enough to think that the GOP would be willing to work with him. He's a left of center Democrat. There's nothing extreme about his positions or the policies has argued for. You can't say the same thing about the house GOP.

Do you deny that Obama's initial reaction to any difference of opinion between himself and the GOP is stubborn defiance?

the only bullshit is that you are still making excuses for obama's inability to influence others towards a common goal... which is what great leaders do. Bill Clinton was a pro at getting the opposing party to work with him (up until the Lewinsky scandal broke when he lost credibility and integrity which are two more very important leadership qualities).

Its humorous that you are bringing up the house GOP leadership. Boehner is a complete joke of a leader and is struggling to hold his own party together but I'm not here making excuses as to why Boehner can't get those he leads to all 'get along'... I know why. He's not a great leader and he is in over his head.

One of my pet peeves is when people settle by saying 'well I'm better than this person' rather than comparing themselves to the top. You are saying Obama is better than the worst of leaders (like the house GOP leadership) rather than comparing him to the best of leaders. Do that and you will see Obama falls far short. I tried to ask you earlier what makes a good leader and you still have not answered. Start there - That's what the best leaders look like. Than ask yourself if Obama demonstrates those qualities.
There's a difference between Boehner's inability to lead the house GOP and Obama's inability to get the opposition party to go along with his policies.

I'm not suggesting that Obama is the best president of all time. I'm only answering Mike's question. No, Obama is not the worst president ever. He's not even the worst president in the last 10 years.

Obama: Here's the budget I'm proposing. It cuts taxes, reduces the deficit, and ends the wars.

GOP: Socialist bullshit. We'll take the deal only if you agree to shoot your wife in the face and eliminate unemployment benefits.

Obama: Nope, not going to do that.

GOP: See!!! Stubborn defiance!

We're around 5 weeks into Obamacare.  How's that working out so far for the 12 people who have been able to sign up for it?

Maybe avoiding the government shutdown by agreeing to the GOP's demand to delay the implementation of Obamacare would have been a win-win for America.

The federal website has been a piece of ****. No argument here. But the state run websites (there are about 20 states running the exchanges) work fine. Anyone in California, for example, that qualifies for Obamacare can sign up in 15 minutes right now.

The bill itself isn't the problem.

What exactly is it that makes Obama the "worst president ever"? The fact that he got us out of Iraq? Killed Bin Laden? Turned around a crashing economy? Got health care for millions of people who didn't have it? Which of these atrocities bothers you guys the most? Oh wait a min, was it that he lied us into two wars that cost billions of dollars and thousands of American lives? Oh,sorry--that was George W. Bush. Um, was it that he tripled the deficit and sold weapons to our enemies? Oops, no, that was Reagan. Was it that he inherited a budget surplus and turned it into a massive deficit? Er, my mistake, that was Bush again.

Please explain.
Got us out of Iraq? He lost Iraq. The man-child isn't paying attention. He's living off the hard work Bush did. He's already lost Afghanistan. More Americans killed under Obama in 5 years than Bush.

Turned around a crashing economy?  The one that was destroyed by Frank-Dodd and liberal democrat policy? Freddie and Fanny?

Bush lied us into TWO wars?  He LIED us into Afghanistan and the towers? He lied us into Iraq along with Britain and France and Russia? He lied us into a war against a country that used chemical weapons against Iran and the Kurds? What stuff is Syria destroying now?

Bush tripled the debt from 4 to 8 Trillion while fighting TWO wars?  Oh...that was Reagan?  What was the debt under Ronnie?

Reagan sold weapons to our enemies? Who? Sure your aren't talking Obama to Syria? Why couldn't Reagan just sell to the Contras? Oh yeah. Democrats. Democrats supporting the communists.

Bush inherited an economy that had been stagnant for two years? After Clinton blew all the peace dividend money from Reagan away?

Either your memory sucks or your text books and teachers do.

Please explain.

To be fair . . . Bush DID lie us into Iraq.

Everything else is pretty much spot on correct.

The economy was not crashed by Dodd-frank or liberal policy.
