Bump in honor of #17 tonight, first one in the Mega difficult (said with no sarcasm) D3 world of Naismith. Won it with 7 losses, mostly in conference. Have some really nice players on this team but definitely didn't peg it as a team likely to win the Nat'l Championship. This will have to make up for my embarrassing loss as a #2 seed in the first round of the Tark tournament...

I wish there was a way I could find out what growth to expect. I'm assuming the ratings you are talking about in the first post are senior year ratings right? Because even when I look at DII if I put the search on 50/50 ath/spd it finds 4 people who all have terrible WE's. I played HD for years under my old ID (steamboat23) but things are pretty different and I have little experience under the FSS and potential stuff. I was..probably considered an average coach back then. Had good years, but also had very mediocre years as well. Some teams I had trouble with, and I have gotten to DI previously... But really after a couple years I seem a bit lost. This guide really helps.

He's definitely talking about SR year ratings. In D3, you're going to end up with a lot of FR who are either 35/60 or 60/40 to start. Trick is to find the ones with good work ethic and high-high potential in either ATH or SPD.

If you have a player's distro set at 0 that means that the sim decides the distro for that player, no? If I set every player's distro at 0, the computer would decided based on whatever factor how often that players gets the ball.

Therefore, does it not make more sense to set a non-scorer's distro at 1 to ensure the computer doesn't decide he gets the ball more than that? 5-5-4-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1..... something like that?

No, a ZERO in distro means he won't shoot (or at least won't shoot much).

Trenton... am I not understanding the player's guide then?

"Distribution may be left at 0, but this is not an advisable strategy. Some coaches mistakenly believe that leaving distribution at 0 lets the offense take what is given to them, but this is not the case.
