Should be pinned.
The 120 and 90 ath+speed number for d3 is a close to a magic number for success as there is in hd and something I'd heard elsewhere before.

120 and 90? Are you saying over 120 between ath and speed in total and over 90 speed?

No, it means ATH+SPD= 120 at D2 and ATH+SPD= 90 at D3 are formulas for success.

I went back and re-read what ae had posted and it said
At d3, I am looking for my guards to be a combination of 120 in speed/athleticism

I would think ATH+ SPD = 90 would be extremely low for D3

" One trick I use (I think I may have invented this, I never saw anyone use it before I did) is to redshirt a Juco. In order to do this, you MUST inform him of redshirt during recruiting "

This is not true btw.  I've definitely had a JR JUCO take a RS without telling him about it beforehand.  Maybe it's rare, but it's not set in stone.  He did have 90+ WE, so maybe that made a difference.

And I have to admit I laughed at the part in parentheses.  How could you possibly have any idea whether that's true or not?

Maybe you are right. It could also be where a recruit is, so it will develop...

It means 120 ath+spd for guards and SF and 90 ath+ spd for p/c

Thank you for this thread.  I too have seen all the things I do wrong. I have some work to do to improve in the future!

JUCO is definitely harder to redshirt w/o "informing of RS." I have only successfully done it once, out of 7 or 8 different players.

It is basically impossible without informing, so hard that I stopped trying

I would also like to thank Kmason, who gave me a guide similar to this (an engine or two ago, right around when potential was coming out I think) via AIM over dozens of conversations (most were just us bragging about how good of players we signed).
