aejones do you use fatiuge or target minutes
Why would anyone use target minutes when you have the option to actually take guys out when they need a breather and not arbitrarily based on hitting some total number??? - unless you're desperate to fulfill a promise I guess.

there are strategies to doing it successfully but it's always seemed simpler to base it off fatigue.

I do it off minutes for some teams, fatigue for others. Depends on what goals I am trying to reach with each team's personnel.

thats up to you.  i suggest to make 2 teams, one to move up as quickly as possible, and 1 to build a D3 dyansty.  i have 5 teams and all have different MO's

I'd recommend staying in D3 for 4-5 seasons so you can see how well you do with your own players before going to D2.

I would also like to thank Kmason, who gave me a guide similar to this (an engine or two ago, right around when potential was coming out I think) via AIM over dozens of conversations (most were just us bragging about how good of players we signed).
Lol, this is 100% true.

I tried target minutes for like 10 games, and it didn't even come close to working the way I wanted it to so I've never considered using it again.

Most coaches have gone with the fatigue settings since that was implemented back in the Eisenhower administration. One of the few scenarios people use minutes is when they have promised a freshman a start but don't want them to get a lot of minutes. Then you can put them #1 on the depth chart but set them at the lowest minutes setting.

Quick Question

I got a schollie message saying that I was in the lead. Now I got a schollie message saying "Coach, you have a little more selling to do - don't get me wrong, you're close, but there are other schools that have indicated a possible interest in me."

Does this mean that I am behind?

sounds like a behind message. Rule of thumb - when in doubt, spend...

this message soiunds like you are "close." nowadays i think there is a very unclear area where the teams are close and you will get some mixed messages. if you are ahead, it definitely isn't by much.

i have been at almost all my teams FOREVER. i like to stay and break records and get used to the terrain and whatnot. moving around is a bit of a copout. i would just get two teams i guess, but trutfhully d2 and d3 are very similar, just slightly tougher competition at d2, usually.
