Player for cash discussion Topic

I recall you transferring all your excess payroll in Happy Jack to prospect before ST and then having people pay the salaries of the players you acquired.
Those days are over. I don't agree with cash changing hands anymore unless it's a small amount at the trade deadline. It's not good for a world. I mentioned acquiring $15.9M in HBC. Well HBC rolled on 7/5 and still needs 6 .... Go figure.

Sure you can.  It's called a "veto".   Maybe you've heard of it.
Then I waive or designate, veto that.Same result, except I dont have to pick up another player.

So you have people at your beck and call to pick up useless players making 5m?   Must be nice.

True. But on its own, the idea of giving another owner $5M more than everybody else while bringing my total budget down to $180M is pretty unappealing. I'd have to be getting a screaming deal to agree to that.
You are correct. You just dont give 5m away, you get something for it,and that something in return is the determining  factor, not just the cash surrendured. If cash avail was supreme, anyone can raise that on the wire. Many do. You can't block someone from selling a player for cash.
Dude, you can't get "cash", or additional cap space on the WW.

Someone, punch me in the face to prevent me from reading anymore of this.

I already know there is a market for the player. The same owner who tried to pick him up in the vetoed trade has already stated his desire to purchase the player. He picks him up on the wire instead. Ofcourse somebody can pick him up before, probably someone who vetoed because they  don't believe in buying players for cash. It matters not at all  to me who comes up with the long green.

Next time Ben Bernanke wonders aloud why 90% of the population is in debt and has no savings in the bank, I'm sending him this thread.

So he's not useless?   Then why are people vetoing the deal?

More to the point, why are you waiving him and giving him away for nothing?

Maybe a good maybe decision, maybe a bad decision. .Maybe i'm giving away an asset worh more and doing a dumb thing.Maybe i sign a better player than I waived .Either way you can't stop me.

Because it's cash, and the  no cash crowd will veto regardless

Post the player ...

So you're trying to free up 10m?   You're trading a 5m player and getting 5m in cash?

Either way, I have no problem with you waiving a good 5m player.   Knock yourself out.   There's no "I'll help you out" factor in play.

I don't either. But if he's a good player for $5M I'd question why you aren't playing him on your team. What are you doing, trying to sign your draft picks?

If the original trade partner claims him the it's the same as the vetoed deal. I would be doing it to help myself., not as a favor. and whether it is a good, or bad move on my part is another story. Same as the trade. It's just how you get around the closed minded, no cash , no way, not ever bunch who will veto any trade that includes cash.
