It may, like you say, even out in the end.  But I have never paid attention to defense on my teams.  Granted, aside from the WISC I only play progressives, which play a little differently.  But defense smefense is my motto!

If it makes you feel any better... my platoon of Mike Redmond and Honus Wagner for catcher has Honus having 4 past balls in 2 games.

So, 8-22 is not a good start.  11 extra inning games so far.  We were 1-5 in todays pm with 5 extra inning losses.  Three teams at 0-5.  I can't remember ever having a team start 0-5. Schwarze, when are you posting next year's themes?

It's been an odd start for me.  I'm very happy with my 25-17 record (i.e., a 96-win pace per team).  Every cycle has been either 4-2 or 3-3, so there's been no rollercoaster ride (yet).  I'm usually the first one to post my abysmal 1-run records.  But going into this morning's games, I've only played six 1-run games (2-4).  I did play three 1-run games in today's am cycle (2-1), so we're now an acceptable 4-5.  I'll take .500 in 1-run games every time.

Now that I've posted this, it's a lock that I'll go 1-5, 5-1, 0-6 in my next three cycles.

What are the odds I would be playing the same owner (spotsell) in 3 out of the 6 leagues playing today?

I only see two games, but then again I can't find the ketchup in the refrigerator either.

Field Report from League 3B ($90 mil twist)

There's an interesting battle brewing over in 3B between two storied franchises: the Indians and the Dodgers. Five teams were chosen 6+ times, among them 3 Dodger teams and a Naps squad. 3B wound up with more of them than any other division.

In total, there are 6 Dodger franchise teams ('30, '64, '92, '92, '08, '08) and 5 Indians franchise teams ('09, '10, '10, '10, '00). That last Cleveland squad is 2000, not 1900. For absolutely no reason, I find this a fascinating mini-competition. Which franchise will twist better and reign supreme?

The very early results by franchise show a clear pattern:

Mets 10-6
Dodgers 28-20
Indians 23-17
Red Sox 4-4
White Sox 8-8
Braves 7-9
Orioles 7-9
Yankees 7-17 (hah!)
Kansas City 2-6

For the Mets, both teams are the very popular '93 iteration.  Them and the Indians/Dodgers are the only ones over .500 so far. Those three franchises represent just over half the league's teams and are clearly dominating. I look forward to seeing how this develops. My dog in this fight is the '64 Dodger squad, my only >.500 team at the moment.

8 cycles in i was 24-24 and that''s the deepest i have ever stayed .500 then a 1-5 to break my spirit.

Anybody else seeing Mariano get lit up like a Christmas tree in the clone theme?
