The Bigs season 19 Topic

We have rolled and are now taking applications from interested owners to join us for season 19. Our current openings are listed below

The Bigs has a great group of owners who return season after season and we have one of the best blogs in HBD. Check our league history and you'll notice little to no turnover from season to season. In the past, we've gone several seasons without having to replace a single owner at rollover.

Interested owners can sitemail me or simply post in this thread. Preference will be given to owners with experience and a winning history. We have a minimum win threshold of 50 games at the major league level, Anyone who fails to reach this mark will be removed from the league following the season's end. Also, see the right hand side of our blog for a short list of banned ballparks.

AVAILABLE TEAMS:
Philadelphia Los Azucareros: (52-110, 4th NL North)
-- TAKEN BY russ33b

Washington DC Blue Coats: (89-73, 2nd NL East) -- TAKEN BY danknuggz

Austin Slackers: (90-72, T-1st NL South) -- The Slackers have won their division two seasons in a row, making the World Series two seasons ago. Armed with tons of talent.

Salt Lake City Black Sox: (70-92, 3rd NL West) --  This franchise is in the midst of a rebuild and has just $23 million under contract for next season. The new owner will have plenty of money to spend on free agents and international prospects

Arizona Scorpions: (65-97, 4th NL West) -- TAKEN BY darren21

Toldeo Ticks: (74-88, 3rd AL North) -- This team is in its prime right now and has some great pitching on its roster. With one or two key free agent signings or trades, it is an immediate contender.

Milwaukee Hoptical Illusion: (61-101, 3rd AL North) -- TAKEN BY gomiami1972

Louisville Lightning: (63-99, 4th AL East) -- TAKEN BY bracktacular

Memphis Ptah: (83-79, 3rd AL South) -- TAKEN BY bignr37

Nashville Sacko: (67-95, 4th AL South) -- With Jolbert Lee on the roster, this rebuild already has a key piece in place and is the owner of the 8th overall pick in the upcoming draft.

Anaheim Chiles: (73-89, 4th AL West) -- This franchise has had the same owner for its entire existence and is led by Mitch Sobkowiak. Needs to add pitching and overall roster depth.

Great world with lots of balance-

great world with some great owners, and probably the most parity i've ever seen.  top three teams last season had 104, 100, and 100 wins.  nobody runs away with it in the bigs.  :>

For those who'd love to tank, but don't want to tank - why not just pick up one of these early drafting teams?  This has been a solid world throughout it's history.  What we're having here in this rollover is an outlier.

looks like gomiami1972 will be taking the milwaukee franchise

I'm willing to take Philly or Louisville. Want to relocate though. I'm looking for a world where turnover isn't an annual issue.
