The Ultimate Progressive League is a league where all players advance through their career simultaneously.
We are entering our 23rd season in three versions.
BASIC RULES:
All players advance through their career one year at a time.
Each player in this draft starts as a rookie (first database season). For example, if you draft Magic Johnson, you'll have 79-80 Magic Johnson on your roster this season.
Each player advances to their second season in the league for the next year. From the example above, you'd have 80-81 Magic Johnson.
If a player has a missing year in the database, he goes on IR for that season (Michael Jordan 93-94).
Any player cut goes into the veteran pool for the next draft. For example, I draft Spencer Haywood's first season (69-70). If I cut him after this season and another owner drafts him the next season, they have to use the 70-71 Haywood.
If a player is not drafted after being a veteran cut, he returns to the next draft as a rookie (so if Haywood is cut for season 2 and goes undrafted, he reverts to his 69-70 season for season 3).
If a player reaches the end of his time in the database (Chris Paul with only four seasons or Dwight Howard with five), they return to the draft as rookies.
Any player selected in the draft that was not on a roster the previous year starts with his rookie season.
If you drafted Bill Wennington in the upcoming draft, you would use 1985-1986, his first database season.
