Round 2 - 110M Draft - MLB103153 Topic

I think you have the wrong player cost for my last selection schwarze, looks like you cut & paste Ed Walsh's salary instead of the $200K it is suppose to be.

Since I probably won't be up when my next round pick comes up and it doesn't look like cubbies is going to post before then, I'll make my pick now and re-pick later if necessary.

My 4th round selection is:     2012 Brent Lillibridge (OF/1B/2B/3B/SS) $219,802
10/18/2012 2:24 AM
2000 Ramon E. Martinez $1,280,847

What exactly is the Max Salary column on the first page showing?

Max salary is I believe what is the maximum allowable salary for the pick in the subsequent round.

Schwarze, you've got a few mistakes for me.  The salary for 12 Lillibridge is $219,802 (not $210,802) and the total team salary is almost $200K off (should be $819,802).  Also 3rd round pick should read Deivi Cruz (2005).

It's schwarze's calculation for what's the most you could spend in the next round, assuming that you'll have a small increase in salary each subsequent round (I can't remember if the formula is for a 50K increase or a 100K increase) and that you won't go over the cap. I believe schwarze has made it a rule that for rounds 1-20, you can't go over this number, but in any case it would be a strange strategy to do so.

2008 Pablo Sandoval $1,138,638

brianjw's description is correct (it assumes 100K increases).  At this stage, it's somewhat meaningless since everybody's max is similar.  But as we get further into the draft, this number bears more importance.

Thanks for the corrections.  Obviously, keeping track of things in this type of draft is very labor intensive, so please keep pointing out mistakes when you see them.

Now that we're in timed rounds you shouldn't expect a sitemail unless we get completely caught up.
