Round 2 - 110M Draft - MLB103153 Topic

I just wanted to say that this is most definitely the craziest, weirdest, wildest draft I've ever been involved in! It appears there were 24 completely different strategies! Of all the team comments I'm looking forward to hearing from everyone, comments about this team/draft are the ones I'm looking forward to hearing about the most!

Strategy?  What strategy?  Other than figuring out ahead of time how many SPs I plan on drafting, I have no strategy.

What little strategy I've used has been of the "Flying by the seat of my pants" variety.  That being said, here is the latest version.

1944 Tex Hughson   $7,004,626

I've just been trying to predict who Schwarze might want, then I draft that player before he can...

Ouch!  I was really hoping he would make it back to me...except I was going to select the 2011 version.

It has only recently dawned on me that my "strategy" appears to be to paint myself into a corner.  It reminds me of the other night watching the election returns and the comments as the night progressed that Romney had only a "narrow path" to success.  My path is dwindling rapidly and may lead nowhere.

1925 harry heilmann 7,311,764

i wanted to take someone else at ss with this pick and made a last second change. hopefully it doesn't come back to haunt me.
Well you're leaving a secondary low-cost pitcher pretty late if you plan on attempting to go with 88 King (and with under 560 IP at the moment that would be very risky to only get S. King as 1260ish IP at this cap would be murder on the fatigue nevermind having to pitch him every game).

Since you have very little available cap space, and most of the *good* pitchers around the $7m mark have already been taken, you might want to reconsider your last few picks else you might be throwing out some scrub every other game...
I definitely have my work cut out. I have a few pitchers in mind the only problem is I need to pair them exactly to fit into the cap. I have to analyze the other teams to see if anyone else is in my situation. Hopefully I'm the only one which will make things a little easier. I made many mistakes with this draft but the two that hurt me the most was losing track of the amount of rp I took and taking keppinger and forgetting to pair him up with another ss which caused me to take browning instead. This draft is so long that you forget what you originally planned on doing, plus other owners ruin that strategy by picking some of your key players. By the looks of this draft a four to five man rotation was probably the way to go.

Sorry for the late picks, just been busy.  It didn't help that for some reason I thought that we had a DH in this league.  I had a rough plan rostered with a DH, then of course players got picked and I realized there was no DH.  That meant major changes to the team and strategy.

I did think about waiting to the end at this point with that many missing picks, but felt that I would miss out on too much of the top talent.  There isn't a lot of $8M players left worth rostering that haven't already been picked earlier.  I do feel like in the $100M team draft that waiting does has it benefits.  I did not plan on that idea to begin with, but am ok with how it worked out.  I got the pieces I really wanted and when I get some more time I can find what teams to draft to fill in the rest of the pieces.  Any ways it will be interesting if to see how these teams fair.  I can tell you already that I am not overly thrilled with my reverse draft team, but then again I bet a lot of people are in the same boat.
