Yes, I know both of these things. But at least no one else has Hornsby

It's "Greater than or Equal to", so I can have more than one 200K player.

Can't any of us (jfranco aside) have multiple 200k guys at this point?  I can still take a 200k guy with my pick (and subsequenty picks), correct?

That's how I was reading the rules. It is only your own choices that restrict the salary of the next choice.

Yes.... people can have multiple 200K players.

Ah sorry...missed the equal to part of the theme.  Good to know.

Schwarze... shouldn't you update what the initial Max Salary is for everyone (which should be identical since everyone is has the same $110M remaining).

I will eventually update the max salary column, but it's somewhat pointless now, with everybody drafting cheaper players.

With the 3rd pick in the 1st round of the 110M Reverse Salary Draft, the unnamed JJGreen14 team selects 1963 Dal Maxvill $200,000.

1909 Scotty Barr, $200,000
10/10/2012 12:25 PM
1976 Luis Gomez $200,000
10/10/2012 5:35 PM
1986 Greg Maddux  $255,662.  Think about it.

I get it... Hornsby and Maddux will not have an impact on this league.  Maybe I am missing something, but how does this make a difference in the overall big picture?  All players are eligble. It's not like we're going to run out of good players.   Personally, I'd rather have the extra million or so in salary that I'll have by not drafting a bunch of 250K to 400K players.

I agree with Schwarze.  While I can see the benefits of blocking Maddux, I think he might be a better later round pick since all he's good for is a mopup pitcher (it's not like someone can pick up a useful version of him before you can do so in subsequent rounds).  At least 37 Hornsby can be used as a somewhat decent pinch hitter (although again I think this is a bit of a reach as well).

My chances of drafting a good Maddux are at best 1/24.  It is worth 56K to not have him be an impact player on another team -- perhaps even one in my division.  We all know there are "cookies" in the WIS database.  Addie Joss, Hornsby and Maddux, for example, all seem to me to have a larger impact than might be expected.  I do think it is to my advantage to remove as many of them as possible.   A small advantage, to be sure, but the owner who missed the second round by one point may have appreciated that advantage.

What I think both Schwarze and I are saying is that you could of still picked the 86 Maddux in like the 3rd, 4th or even 5th round and he would of either already been gone (by someone else picking the 86 Maddux thus still achieving your objective of nobody getting a good Maddux) or he would of still been there for you to take.  It's just not possible for anyone to get a good Maddux before the 5th round realistically.

In other words, does the 86 Maddux help your team picking him this early?
