Picking at the end of both the first round and the last round is really going to end up biting me, I can feel it.

he/she did this in the other draft too. picked only the first 3 rounds and then stopped. it's good strategy because it makes it easier to piece your team together. You might miss out on some players but it eliminates you picking player A thinking player B will be available to you and when player B isn't you go scrambling in different directions. i'm not sure if this should be allowed but there is nothing in the rules saying otherwise.

Yes, there is some value in being able to put your roster together all at once... but think about... this basically means that you are building your team from the remaining players, after all 23 other teams have picked through all the best players.  I think that fact outweighs the advantages.

Anyway, I've site-mailed profcake.  He commented to me a few days ago that he's been really busy and will catch up as soon as he has the time.  I don't think it was his intention to wait until after round 25 to build his roster.

the value was more in the other draft than this one. i'm not accusing him of anything or saying it was intentional. i just thought it was an interesting strategy if that is what he was doing and considered doing it myself in the other draft. it doesn't really matter to me. all my teams stink and i am already expecting to take 24th place. i'm just happy that i made it to round 2.

I was thinking about that strategy too, but wasn't really brave enough to pull it off. Especially in the last two rounds of the previous draft, I had several pairs of picks that went well together, but would have been terrible if I couldn't get the second part of the pair. I got what I wanted in the end, but it was nervous, and I probably should have just waited until round 8 to make my last two picks.

Having said that, I don't see any reason to think that's profcake's strategy here. In some businesses this is a crazy busy time of year; I'm more surprised that no one else has fallen behind because of other commitments.

I really wanted to take a different player here, but this guy will not make it back to me, so...

Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies...
