As we start preparing for our 30th season, it looks like the Monty Python Progressive is going to be looking for a new owner to take over the San Diego (Qualcomm Stadium) franchise.
This is a pretty standard 24-team progressive: no DH, no cap or roster restrictions, draft order set as of game 120 standings (min 35 wins by G120 or draft position will drop); we have a AAA draft following the regular draft (and do not permit use of the autogenerated AAA guys)
We are nearing the end of the 1997 season and the 1998 draft is probably a week or so from getting under way. (aiming for December 3 draft start)
If you want a shot at a great league.... let me know
San Diego Roster (1998 potential keepers)
C Dave Nilsson
1B Hal Morris
2B Mark McLemore, David Bell, Keith Lockhart
3B Scott Brosius
SS Chris Gomez, Jeff Blauser, Alex Arias
OF Gary Sheffield, Steve Finley, Rob Ducey
SP Darryl Kile, Aaron Sele, Tom Candiotti, Dave Burba, Pat Hentgen, Jeff Suppan
RP Mariano Rivera, Billy Wagner, Doug Brocail, Doug Jones, Dave Veres
DL Benito Santiago (back in '99)
also you could keep if you really want 'em, but I would probably cut:
Rich Delucia, P; Mike Holtz, P, Geronimo Berroa, OF; Jed Hansen (DL in '98 back in '99)
With that keeper list you would still need 2 picks for the coming season (and we supplement our rosters with a 4 player draft from the leftovers).
The team was 99-63 in 1997, has the 22nd pick in the first round and has retained all of its draft picks
It's a great league, with many longtime owners.
