Vance says "My interest is peaked as to who the PG will be for this team." Me too, buddy. I'm so crushed I didn't end up with Penny, I'm not really sure which direction I'll be going at PG. I was starry-eyed at a potential Penny/Mullin/Lucas/McHale start. I really needed that defense/scoring/assists package Penny brought to go with Mullin, and now I'm worried that I've put myself in a position where I need something that isn't available. We'll see.

Like my team so far, low TOs and fouls. High eFG and defensive rebounding

I understand what you're saying about my teams D vance, but this team is shaping up to have better D than the one that lost the finals. I would've preferred Fisher at PG, but Calderon and Anderson are perfect compliments offensively for Durant and Duncan.
Not everyone can be you and manage to steal the first pick after winning the finals.

Honestly, there are a couple of solid late round rebounders. There are reasons they drop to the 4th and 5th rounds, but he can still get enough guys to at least break even with rebounds. We will have to see who evil picks, but if it was me I would feel confident that I can land at least a couple of the guys I have in mind.
I haven't even started the process of looking in to guys, but it is true, there will be guys there and I will hopefully capitalize on that. I guess it is time for me to build a list and see who falls between now and my next selection. Should be fun to see if I build a list of 10 guys and each of them gets taken.
The list that I build still contains eight guys, this should be interesting.

I don't hate you. I was kidding. Chill.

I would've put a smiley face on that post... but smiley faces are stupid.

I think that if I get the players I am eyeing then my team will be extremely hard to beat, we'll see what you all think.

Okay gin I will chill and remove the post. I just don't want you guys to put me in that 98average category. I take this too seriously and wear my feelings on my shirt sleeves.

All good. There's only one 98, no worries.

One thing I have noticed with the sim is that 40% and above 3pt shooters will enjoy both a higher volume and pct made IF and ONLY IF a team has a high enough total ast% on the floor. Neither Marshall nor Nater pass enough to get me to my target ast%. However, Mason plays 80D, gives adequate boards, and has the ast% better than a lot of SG's. Plus his usage is low and my plan is to maximize Wade and the 40% long-range guys I plan to add. There are at least 10 guys left that do what I need from the PG or SG positions, but there were far fewer guys (if any) that give me what Mason does. So give that pick an "F", but be prepared to have D Wade go for 40pts and my other guys go something like 12/24 from the arc against you.

Vance you have little choice but to pass out grades based on whether teams are following the proper "cookie cuter" approach to building one. But there are other highly successful ways to approach this thing, and some of those ways may not appear to the group as being good ones, but they sure can be.

Well technically you're right. Ming may have been a reach in the fourth round. However, there are 4 sg/sf types I have ranked about even and I'm sure at least 1 will be available when I pick in the 5th. My strategy in drafts is to draft a quality bench player in the 3rd or 4th rd. Ming will provide usg, efg and a little rebounding in the post. He will prevent me from having to use a low efg, high usage guy off the bench. So rather than flip a coin on the 4 equal players, I took Ming. After Okafor went, I just didn't like what else was left out there in the post. So I do have a long range plan, I wasn't just grasping at straws.

I hear what you are saying coach but you didn't take one of my favorite back up centers that would have been similar to Ming but with much higher EFG% and higher CREB%. Your plan is still good.
