Surprised both by how many votes Schilling is getting and by how easily Mac is beating Palmeiro.

I would love to see Jeff Bagwell & Craig Biggio get elected & enshrined together!  Since it will be years before any of the roiders get in, the BBWAA has a chance to do something right and show they care about the sport and only elect Bagwell & Biggio this year, & let them share the stage in Cooperstown!

Julio Franco - First year on the Ballot

First 11 years as a MIF  .301/.359/.409  112 OPS+, pretty damn good.  Just for comparison, Derek Jeter is 117 OPS+.

Then reinvents himself and plays until he 48(!) with a .293/.370/.430 110 OPS+.

He played too long.  Everyone remembers the old guy.  No one remembers he was a damn good 2B.

I do remember the old guy.  When you said "reinvents himself" you meant "starts using steroids" right?

I was going to vote no right away on David Wells, but then I thought I'd better refresh my memory so I checked his stats at b-r.com.  This caught my eye:

Height: 6' 3", Weight: 187 lb.

I still voted no.  But he had a pretty good career.
