What is the lowest amount of money you need to sign a coaching staff?

Guy in my world budgeted 7 and looks like he used only 5.

Yeah but it seems like ML pitching, bench, and hitting coaches always want multi million dollars per year.....that's why I was asking

You can sign a guy looking for a minor league PC, HC, or BC job to a ML job for 600k.

I budget $14M, usually spend about $13M.  I think coaches make a difference, especially hitting and pitching coaches at the MLB level.

So the lowest amount I need is around $12M, $11M if I was really cheap.

I was not aware of that.  Thanks dude!

Arf,

The only time I would budget more than $8 or $9 mil is if I need a Fielding Instructor and there are only a few available. Otherwise, anything over that is a waste of budgeted dollars.  You should never have to pay the asking price for any of the ML coaches (except for when they are asking for the minimum).  I always offer less than half the asking price and always get a PC, HC and BC cheaply.  There are enough available that you don't need to overpay for those coaches. And as tec pointed out, you can always promote a minor league coach, or offer a minor league coach a big league offer.

+1 to what bcoak said...

I usually budget $10 (unless I need a FI) just to ensure I get the coaches I want... but if you know what you're doing, you can get a capable, quality staff at every level for between $7-9M (again, unless you need an FI).

Or 6m.

I never even tried to offer less to a ml coach. Wow.

It also seems I have to spend 500k or more to get a solid coach in the minors to get the most out of my prospects. Feels like it adds up quickly, then in out of coach cash .

Yeah I wasn't aware that you could offer less than they were asking.  I just assumed that they turn you down if you offered less than they asked for.  Thanks!

But you have to wait till the end of the signing period to lowball them successfully, right?

Coaches are more important that most people think.  They have an affect on an individual game level that is hard to quantify but is there.  An appropriate coaching staff at the ML level can be the difference in winning 5 more games a season, which can mean a lot.  I rarely go below 14M in budgeting and make sure to get good coaches.
