There is this 2003 steroids list floating around, names that were leaked as testing positive.  I know it has not been confirmed as accurate, but has it been positively refuted as a fraud?  Roberto Alomar is on the list.

I know it's a bit hypocritical to vote Bonds and not Clemens, but I think a lot more damning "evidence" has come to light over Roger than Bonds, and there has been no greater attempt to find evidence against one player than with Barry. And I absolutely despise Bonds. But until there's concrete proof, I can't exclude him from the Hall.

That's horrible. It's clear to anyone with a brain that both Bonds and Clemens used PEDs. You can't vote one in and leave one out based on PED usage.

My ballot for next year:

Bonds
Clemens
Maddux
Mussina
Glavine
Bagwell
Schilling
Walker
Thomas
Trammell
Raines
Martinez
Biggio
McGwire
Piazza
Kent

F the ten name limit.

I strongly suspect both used PEDs, but I guess I'm just from that old school "innocent until proven guilty" philosophy. I don't like Bonds, so it's not like I'm trying rationalize either. Neither he nor Clemens has been conclusively proven to have used PEDs, despite what the circumstantial evidence suggests. With Clemens, enough evidence and witnesses have come forward that I'm not willing to give him the same benefit I give Bonds. Bonds has been the victim of a huge witchhunt like no other player during the PED debacle (and perhaps deservedly so), and yet no one has been able to prove he knowingly took PEDs. Sorry, but that says something. I'd reject him solely on the fact that he's a dick, but objectively, as of what we know this moment, he should be in the hall.

Ok, in this hypothetical world, if we're allowed more than 10 votes (you aren't in the real world) I'd also vote for Glavine and Thomas.

Barry Bonds admitted to using the cream and the clear.

The evidence against Bonds in Game of Shadows isn't circumstantial, and the only thing that's ever been at issue about it is the methods by which it was obtained.  We know more about Bonds' use than most guys who tested positive.  The only reason his perjury case wasn't a slam dunk was because Greg Anderson was willing to spend months in jail in contempt of court rather than testify, so much of that evidence couldn't come in.  On the other hand, the case against Clemens basically comes down to the credibility of one guy.

And for the record, I'd vote for both of them.

That's why I said "knowingly".

Look, I'm not defending him - I think he did it. But if we're going by the "innocent till proven guilty" approach, there's still reasonable doubt.
