I have the perfect solution. They are looking for people to colonize Mars. Let's send the tea party and republicans that are feed up with the fact they have "had America stolen from them." They can have all the assault rifles and bans on abortions they want there.

I see Ron Paul is already there.

Good stat.   Now take the number of gun deaths  minus suicide, and minus Chicago and Detroit, which gives you 9,000 people killed by guns; and you have  269, 991,000  guns in the US that did not kill anyone.

Or, if you compare that to boating deaths, there were more people killed per boat than there were killed per firearm.   BAN BOATS!!!

BAN OR REGULATE HIGH VELOCITY, HIGH SPEED CIGARETTE BOATS!

Jon Stewart is not very funny.  Tell us a real joke besides the 30,000 number.

Wanted to see where this was going to go.

Jon Stewart in a rare time where he put his political beliefs before humor blasted positions he felt were wrong.

He missed the point. Let me clarify.

The majority of the gun deaths are urban drug related. We cannot address these because we are a free society and no one wants the army shooting up crack houses in Detroit. And politicians are afraid of the black vote if they start arresting black teens in large numbers. So Detroit stays a decaying crime pit.

The original reason for the 2nd Amendment was to prevent a tyrannical government. It is still a reason for it. The SC also lets us use it for personal defense.

Assualt Gun Bans will not prevent massacres or drug crime.

When we invaded Iraq the people were still afraid of Saddam until his death. So with the US Army blowing up stuff, and the terror cells blowing up all the other stuff, the people were still afraid that "The Dictator" would return. 200 years of unique freedom have left us blind to what a dictator can do to your life.

Funniest. Thing. Ever.
Why?

Because it is easier to make fun of Conservatives that to respond to them in an inteligent and thoughtful way?

Anyone who takes Stewart seriously is a moron.

Anyone who takes Stewart seriously is a moron.
Why, because he uses comedy in his political talk?

He's a pretty damn smart man.  Some people on both sides should listen to him.

He is as smart as Rush Limbaugh.
1/11/2013 4:50 PM
...but he has funnier writers.
