The Enviromental movement has had to change their stories many times in the past when they tried to sell an upcoming man made disaster.

The difference now is that "Global Warming" was a mass marketed concept. They cannot just go back and say "Woops we were wrong". Too many people know the specifics of the story.

So now they need to redefine the issue. They went from Global warming to "Climate Change".

This allows them to maintain all the marketing of Global Warming with none of the actual facts that can no longer be supported.

The movie "The day after tomorrow" painted the picture well. Global warming is going to destroy the planet by causing another ice age.

No matter how crazy the concept is, it can be sold to the masses.

Isn't it ironic that greeny, occsid, et al are DENYING the new scientific info?

What's exhausting is you claiming such reports are bogus when they are coming from some of the godfathers of the global warming movement.  It's ******* hysterical.  But it's even more sad.

People change their minds for many things.  Money is the chief reason.  You get paid much more by corporations who have an invested interest in making people believe there is nothing wrong with status quo.  What is so hard to believe about that?  Its naive to think that some scientists wont cave to the money.  And BTW Im not suggesting that individual corporations are buying scientists.  At least Im not suggesting that they are the only ones, but more like the associations are doing it, miscellaneous ones whom are funded by misc. corporations.  Those of you who think this kind of "buying and selling" of experts doesnt happen are fooling themselves. 

Who is paying for scientists to tell the truth?  governments primarily.  Who pays more then governments?  corporations.  Simple math really.

So what about the scientists that are not paid by corporations?

Are they lying for their government grants?

The facts are becoming clear. Man Made Global Warming cannot be supported. This isnt just a few scientists stating an opinion, this is the weight of the evidence as a whole.

Your idea that hundreds of scientists are lying for money is just a smokescreen?

So, the guys whose funding relies solely on their findings on global warming might not tell the truth?  Really?  Shocking.

And the best part of greeny's statements is that he thinks it only goes one way.  He doesn't realize that the vast majority of global warming lunatic scientists are completely and utterly reliant on the govt *** (all govts), govts that are run by likeminded global warming lunatics.

Really eh?  the government wants its denizens scared shitless over global warming?  I dont think so.  If anything id say the government wants its population complacent and spending lots of money so it can get lots of tax revenues.  A scared population saves money to prepare for a rainy day.  Which is a win/loss situation for the government.  A happy and free spending population is a win/win situation because the gov. makes more money, and truely gov doesnt really care about the future, it only cares for as long as they are in power.

Seems obvious to me that a government paid scientist has less incentive to lie, where a corporate backed one has massive incentives to spin the "facts" in ways that benefits their employers.  Maybe I am a bit pessimistic, but I dont put much past corporations.

This would be true if the bulk of the government were not left wing. And if the bulk of the science communitty were not left wing. This is about destroying Capitalism and replacing it with a socialist utopia.

So, the govt wants people spending money.  So they can make more money.  Like from taxes on carbon?  You know, so we can fight "global warm....", oh, sorry, "climate change"?  And say, does not this vaunted fight against "climate change" not give that those same govt an argument to control pretty much everything?  Why yes it does.
