College Football $80 mil cap (NEED 1) NFL22727 Topic

League ID: NFL22727

Now that the bowl season is over, it's time to crown a champion the old fashioned way, through a playoff!

Choose an exclusive school, & every player on your roster must have attended your school.  Notice I didn't say graduate...

Defense/OL/Special teams need to include 1 player from your school.

Make sure your school has enough players to field a team.  I couldn't find a Punter for Oklahoma or a Kicker for Purdue.  Go figure!

Some players have dual eligibility like Troy Aikman, for example, is listed under Oklahoma & UCLA.

League rules:
  • $80 million cap
  • Use any years/seasons in the database.
  • NO: Trades, WW, clones.
  • YES: Injuries
  • Use home stadium of any player on your roster.
  • Division alignment by conference (PAC-12, Big 10, SEC, etc.)
  • Standard 24 team, 6 divisions, 12 playoff teams.

would take a UCLA team

LA Memorial Coliseum for the stadium since the Rose Bowl is not available

OL / DEF / ST rule clarification -->  I am guessing the player would have to be relevant to your selection (a C, G, T, TE for OL and a defensive player for your DEF).

In other words, I could not use QB Billy Kilmer for a '74 Redskins DEF.  Or a safety to represent my OL

You could use any Ravens OL from 1996-2007 because they have Jonathan Ogden.  You could use Seahawks D from 1981-1987 with Kenny Easley.  Special teams is a little tougher to discern, but a stud Kick/Punt returner will make it easier to identify eligible ST, like Devin Hester on the Miami Hurricanes.

Does that make sense?

exactly, that is how i did it.  Wanted that '74 Redskins DEF, but Kilmer was my only Bruin on that team.

For verification purposes:

DEF - '90 Steelers (SS - Carnell Lake)
OL - '03 Packers (C - Mike Flanagan)
ST - '86 Buccaneers (NT - Karl Morgan)

You should be able to use the 74 Redskins if they have 1 player from UCLA.

I gotta figure out who's gonna get the ball to those Georgia Tech WR's?!

but the UCLA player for that team was QB Kilmer, so figured that would not count

It's amazing that Ohio St hasn't produced a quality NFL QB!

Seems kinda harsh to block a team for the lack of a kicker - why not go to the college of (none) to sign one who never went to college?

That's a great idea! This league would feel incomplete without Oklahoma represented!

Put me down for 2 teams - TBD
1/29/2013 11:31 AM
Maybe Terrell Pryor will pan out & Ohio St will finally have a NFL QB!
1/29/2013 1:47 PM
will take West Virginia for a second team
