Cool thread, ldhmnh. I've wondered this often, and never thought of starting the thread.
For many years, I worked for 'the man' in credit decisioning analytics. Now, I own a marketing company (www.grasshoppermarketing.com) my wife and I started in 2005. So these days I stick it to myself.

Exactly the same for me.  The analytical skills that help with my job really help on here too..but work is a much much much more boring context (insurance).

Dream job would be the GM of pretty much any sports franchise.
