Seems to me that a bunch of people were fellating Andrew Luck and RG3 (and to a lesser extent, Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick) for improving their teams in their first seasons.

Shockingly, there aren't as many great QB as I thought.    No way did I think Kelly was top 20 all-time.   So, with that in mind, you get down to someone had compiled stats like Dave Krieg, someone who had a few great seasons like Kurt Warner or an old-timer. 

I like how you're diverting people from the Raiders like Plunkett, Stabler, and Lamonica (and JaMarcus).

Kiper: I gotta agree with Key.  For stat compilers, he's only rivaled by Marino and Favre.  Remember that he had wildly productive seasons in the CFL before becoming a perennial playoff quarterback with Houston.  If Frank Reich doesn't rip out his heart in 1993, Moon might have had his Super Bowl.  He was one of the most prolific passers EVER, and this is a great pick right here.

Mort: Tec slammed his clipboard down.  I think he was targeting Moon with that pick.

Berman: Well, Tec has made his selection, and it looks like he's gone to the grocery store to pick.... Kurt Warner!

Kiper: Interesting pick.  Obviously a great quarterback for spurts in his career, but probably not the kind of consistent production you'd want from an earlier pick.  If you're going by PEAK value, a solid pick, but the stat compilers will scoff at the limited number of truly productive seasons. 

Mort: Hard to say if he was hurt by his wife.  She's no Giselle, that's for sure.
