Spring Training.  Guy hasn't even gotten into a game yet.  First time I've seen one of these.

Some just don't make it out da ghetto.

I rested one of my prospects that was in AAA near the end of the season.  Five or six cycles AFTER he had been moved to "rest"  , he tore his ACL.  250 days.  He was never the same.  Now that's a *****.

Does no one remember when a boatload of Indians died during Spring Training? Count your blessings, in HBD and real life.

See, when you say "a boatload of Indians died" it sounds like a terrorist bombing or something.

Or just a recap of American history.

Or Jeff Kent washing his truck.

Jeff Kent washing his truck did not kill any Indians.

They were literally scalped.

aren't the explanations of the injuries just window dressing anyway? like pitch types?

Yes and no.  The type of injury usually has some correspondence to the impact on ratings.  So a pulled hammy will see a hit on the speed rating, etc.

Yup.  Last season my SS/3B went down with a herniated disc at age 33.  (He had a terrible health rating, I was prepared for something like it to happen.)  A season ender, and he dropped 10 points off his arm strength and power.  Now, as a free agent, his career might be over.

i meant when it comes to a 'non baseball injury' and a 'baseball injury'. the severity will vary, but it's just a label
