2 years, $12 million? Shocked the Pats couldn't match that.

No kidding. I'm surprised Welker didn't get more. That's a steal.

The Pats offered 2 years $10 mil with incentives to make it $16 mil.  Welker thought he could get more.  So the Pats moved on.  Welker came back to the Pats after FA started and they informed him that they moved on.

Amendola will fit in perfectly.  Plus he's 5 years younger and has better hands.

Not worried.  I am more impressed with the Bronco's other FA signings.  Looks like it'll be Pats vs Den in the AFC championship.

Welker tired of Belichick's bullshit.  That's all it boiled down to.   Well, that and a team with a good QB made him an offer.   Jax could have offered 2/20 and he'd have turned that down.

Maybe Welker wanted a chance to win a Super Bowl in his career.

Welker and Brady probably had the best relationship of any QB/WR combo I've seen.  They could probably complete a good deal of passes with their eyes closed.  It will be interesting to see if he can do the same thing with Amendola.  I'd have to think it won't be as productive.

Welker will end up taking a hit too.  Thomas almost caught 100 passes last year...I'd actually be surprised if Welker got 100+ completions next year.

I think they both got tired of each others BS.  Pats made several offers last year that were better than this seasons.  They were tired of Welker trying to drag this out trying to get every dollar he could get.  That's his right though.  Pats made up their mind.  It's a business.

They reported that another AFC team offered him 2 years @ $18 mil and he turned it down.  It was probably KC.

I doubt Amendola will be close to Welker (this season at least).  I think you'll see Hernandez and Gronk's #'s go up slightly.  I also don't think they're done with the WR position.

Interesting to see what they do with Lloyd.  He's due a $3mil bonus.  I think they'll cut him.  If they do, i think WR is a MUST in the draft and another FA signing.  Maybe Hayward-Bay or Laurent Robinson.  Someone speedy.

Welker won't hit 100.  Not with Thomas and Decker.  Welker will probably be around 80 range.

I only heard it in passing but does his deal include incentives at 90 catches?

If so, I don't think the Broncos think he'll get 100 either.

Don't know.  I just heard that the Pats deal had incentives that would reach $16mil had he reached them.
