Vassar is an extremely good D3 team with a head coach I go way back with and really like. Still, this was a horrid game for us. Petrus is taking way too many shots, and as an offense, it's just not clicking yet.

This went to overtime, and we had a five-point lead with 1:30 to go before letting it slip away. Losing like that stinks, but this was on the road and at least it was a much better effort with a more realistic spreading of shots than I'd seen in exhibitions, so I'll live with it.

Up 13 at the half against a bad Sim, we proceed to turn the ball over 15 times and have our bench outscored 29-3 in the last 20 minutes.

I'm not sure why I came back, but it sure as hell wasn't for games like this.

Not pretty, but a win nevertheless. Weiss played just 14 minutes, which didn't help, but Broome had a big game and we shot the ball well as a team.

Not too unhappy with the result here. Valdosta State is a very good team from probably the best conference in D2, and we kept it fairly close most of the way before they broke it open in the second half. We do need to defend better, and we took way too many 3-pointers.

So a Sim team that isn't deep nor fast presses me, goes uptempo, and beats me by 10 while not getting into foul trouble at all. Gee, I don't see a problem here, do you?

Finally, a game against a weak Sim goes as planned. This was probably our best all-around effort to date; we made shots, defended well, and our bench finally showed they could produce when called upon.

Clarion isn't bad, so this isn't a horrible loss in terms of expectations. That said, we didn't shoot it well, especially from 3-point range, and their bigs had good games despite me going with a -3 defense.

May have stumbled upon something here. Our standard M2M just wasn't cutting the mustard, so I switched over to a halfcourt press/M2M simply because I had nothing to lose. It's not like we beat a tremendous opponent, but the defensive efficiency certainly improved here, and that's a plus.

No qualms with this. North Florida is #14 in D2, and their defense forced a ton of turnovers. We went slowdown, and it worked for a little while, but they got on a big run right before halftime and we couldn't come back.

This was actually a really good comeback win for us. We were down 15 at the half after a REALLY cold 10-minute stretch, but we went 15-for-28 in the second half (and 7-for-14 from 3-point range) to somehow pull this one out on the road.

Indianapolis may win our conference this year, so this isn't a bad loss. Unfortunately, their coach made a great decision in going right after Charles Weiss, and their PF had a huge game, one that made the difference between a win and a loss.
