UNC Asheville has promoted assistant Nick McDeavitt head coach

Three names mentioned for the UMass Lowell job are:  Former Celtic and Kentucky player Walter McCarty;  Williams College coach Mike Maker; and Central Conn. assistant Sean Ryan. Ryan's father is the former coach and athletic director at Lowell H.S.

American U. has named Georgetown assistant Mike Brennan as their new coach. He's also a former assistant at American under Jeff Jones.

Former Boston College coach Al Skinner, his former assistant and current Northeastern assistant Pat Duquette and current Emerson head coach Jim O'Brien, who was the head coach at BC prior to Skinner, all could be in the mix for the UMass Lowell position, according to sources. This is hardly a headline position, but everyone jumping up from Division II to I wants to make a splash."

UMass Lowell, making the move to D1, won't be eligible for post-season play until 2018

 

Chattanooga, who's been without a coach for an alarmingly long time (March 24), finally started the search process.  Their new A.D. started work on April 24 and has begun interviewing candidates.  Chattanooga, who's won the Southern Conference 24 times, hasn't been to the Dance since 2009, and lost 39 games in the last 2 years. Attendance dwindled to 2500/game in a 10,000 seat arena

Chattanooga has hired Will Wade, VCU assistant.

UMass Lowell hired Pat Duquette, Northeastern asst.

Lipsomb hired Casey Alexander, Stetson head coach.

Stetson is now the only DI school without a coach.

There will be 45 schools with new coaches next season, compared to 50 last year
