The answer is yes, there is a ND law against polygamy.

Allowing gay marriage in so we states has not made polygamy legal anywhere.

Yet a person can be legally married to a man in one state and a woman in another.

Nope.  No problem there.

It's an easy fix. Just close the loophole. No other state has the same problem.

If ND has no legal or constitutional obligation to recognize SSM, and they have no desire to do so, then why is it their problem to fix?

You're being retarded. It's North Dakota's issue. If they don't want to close the loophole they obviously don't have to. But they probably will.

It's retarded to say that this is ND's issue to resolve.  They're not the ones who brought it on.

ND is the only entity that can address the loophole in their marriage application process. No one else can solve this issue for them.

And you don't think acknowledging a legal SSM in another state isn't the next step for legalization?

We both know this is just a legal dance with an ultimate goal of forcing states to legalize SSM.    No need for us to dance around that dance.    Do you disagree?

Care to field this one while you're at it?

I don't think that acknowledging that a couple has a legal marriage in another state is the next step towards anything.

Hypothetical couple Bill and Mike are married in California. That marriage is legal and valid in CA. That's a fact.

No one is forcing any state to do anything. I think, ultimately, all states will allow gay marriage. But this has nothing to do with that.

Why do you think ND is in the news?  You've said they have a "loophole".  Do you not think they were chosen to create a legal battle?

Seriously, do you not think this is just a legal battle to force states that don't allow SSM to legalize it?

I do not think that.
