A man and a woman in Montana may have a child.  That child may discover a way to keep people alive well into their hundreds.   Any chance two men have a child that might do that?
Nope.

What does it have to do with gay marriage?
Didn't you imply that a man and a woman marrying in Montana couldn't enrich my life?

Are you following along?

How about allowing it because it promotes equality?
Since I'm allowed to not care if two men get married, can I also not care about equality in this instance?

Fine, then two gay parents can adopt a child and raise it to do the same thing.

I said the marriage wouldn't. I didn't say the birth of a brilliant child wouldn't.

Can gays adopt children without being married?
4/1/2013 7:54 PM
Yup.

And men and women can have children without being married.
4/1/2013 7:54 PM
Are you proposing a ban on marriage altogether?
4/1/2013 7:55 PM
I'm not sure what children have to do with marriage in this argument.

????

You do realize that there are certain sections of society that don't think children without marriage is a good thing, right?

That's beside the point. Those two in Montana can get married whether or not gay marriage is allowed.

It doesn't change the fact that allowing gay marriage doesn't impact your life.
4/1/2013 7:59 PM
Yes.

Are you implying that homosexuals who can't get married also shouldn't raise children? Since they're not married.

It is besides the point. I don't understand what Mikes point is.

He's not trying to make a point. He's just being contrarian.

What if they adopt the child and provide a nourishing upbringing that allows it to flourish and create that fountain of youth?
Are you arguing that a child adopted and raised by a homosexual couple will have as well-rounded of an upbringing as a child adopted by a heterosexual couple.

If the laws were changed so that civil unions allowed for equality of benefits, taxes, etc., for same sex couples then would you still argue that it NEEDS TO BE CALLED MARRIAGE?
4/1/2013 8:14 PM
Yes. And yes.

Give me the reasons why I'm wrong. If you're going to say "sanctity of marriage" or something, dive deeper for me.
